When was the last time you picked up a rock to throw it, skip it across the water, or simply to admire its color?  Rocks are everywhere.  Billions of years ago, as volcanoes erupted and mountains burst from the ground, many different kinds of rocks were formed.  Rocks contain important clues about the events that shaped the Earth.  Geologists study them to look for these clues and to piece together the 4.6 billion years that make up our planet's history.

This blog was made to help guide you through the rock cycle.  The world around us is constantly changing and reshaping itself.  The processes that took place billions of years ago are still occurring today.  It is my hope that by taking this virtual tour you will gain a better understanding of the rock cycle and learn a little about the world around you!
